Diabetes Control (A1c)

Primus specializes in products designed to monitor average glucose levels in diabetes.

PDQ - Semi-automated equipment designed for the physician’s office, clinics and medium-size hospital laboratories.

PDQ Plus, ultra2 A1c - Totally automated equipment and methods designed for clinics, medium-size and large hospitals and reference labs.

All of our A1c systems utilize boronate affinity technology which is recognized as the only truly interference-free analytical method for the measurement of hemoglobin A1c.

Combining the best in boronate affinity accuracy with HPLC precision results in the most clinically useful test for A1c available.

Accuracy

Primus A1c methods are the most accurate methods available in the marketplace today. Boronate affinity technology provides an accurate, interference-free result in glycohemoglobin testing, the only interference-free method for reporting HbA1c.

Precision

Primus platforms offer the speed and precision of high performance liquid chromatography.

HB Variant Screening

Primus ultra2 resolution™ is a system with unsurpassed sensitivity for the detection of hemoglobinopathies using whole blood, manual hemolysates or blood spot samples on filter paper.

The ultra2 quantitates hemoglobins A2 and F while screening for the presence of an abnormal hemoglobin. The system will automatically analyze all abnormal samples using a subsequent high-resolution program.

Abnormal Hemoglobin Identification and Quantitation

Primus has perfected systems that separate hemoglobin subtypes for the purposes of characterizing and quantifying normal and abnormal hemoglobin. Over 950 abnormal hemoglobin (hemoglobin variant) types have been identified. A significant number of these types have clinical implications due to decreased oxygen carrying capacity or to hemoglobin instability.

The Primus ultra2 Resolution provides the best hemoglobin separation technology available in today's market. Without operator intervention, this system recognizes samples containing abnormal hemoglobin species and proceeds to characterize and quantitate each hemoglobin component.
