ultra² ™ Variant Resolution Analyzer for Newborn Screening

The ultra² Resolution HPLC system for variant testing of neonatal samples provides a 2-minute Hb screen for clinically significant hemoglobins S, C, D, E, O and Bart’s in addition to F and A. Samples that exhibit Hb variant peaks in the screening process are automatically transitioned to a High Resolution assay for presumptive identification.

Sample prep is automated – just place the microtitre plate with the sample specimens on the instrument and they will be automatically diluted and mixed. The barcode scanner makes entering sample ID’s simple and accurate or you can import the sample ID’s from an autopuncher.

Columns and reagents are interchangeable and there is no column oven to adjust. Startup is less than 20 minutes, and shutdown and clean-up is automatic.

Phenotype results can be transmitted to an LIS and chromatograms are stored on the system until they are archived or deleted. And since it’s based on Windows XP^® you get functionality along with ease of use.
